total of 100 words then you would have a keyword density of 5%.
Alt
Tags - Alt tags were
designed to provide alternative text for images to visually impaired
individuals who reach the net through audio-based browsers. They
also provide alternative text for individuals who have disabled
image loading.
Heading
Tag - H1 is a heading tag.
There are actually six heading tags (H1-H6) but only the H1 and the
H2 tags have been shown to have an effect on search results.
Keyword
Meta Tag - Many experts
disagree on the use of the keywords meta tag. Although the
importance of this tag has certainly dwindled, there are still a few
search engines that use this tag.
Description
Meta Tag -
Although certainly not nearly as significant as they have been in
the past, there are still many search engines that do appear to at
least "pay attention" to the description meta tag.
Anchor
Text Optimization - Anchor
text is just a fancy way of describing linked text. SEO techniques
come into play when you systematically choose your keywords or
phrases as the actual text linked.
Title
Attribute Tag - Loosely
put, the title attribute tag is somewhat like an alt tag but it is
designed to be used for links.
Navigation Structure
Tips - Setting up an
effective navigation structure on your site will affect the number
of your pages indexed in the search engines. It can also have an
impact on PageRank with Google.
Create
Site Map - People
who have chosen to add an effective site map have discovered an
increase in pages that get indexed very rapidly.
Directories
- Once your website is complete,
submit to The Open Directory Project (DMOZ). Many major search
engines use information gathered from the open directory and it does
appear to have a positive affect on search engine standings.

major search engines will find your site rapidly if you have
incoming links.

A term applied by Google to measure "importance" of a

Linking -
You can start several strategies, to encourage incoming links to
your website. This is not however, something that happens
automatically. You need to make the process of focusing on
increasing incoming links a regular priority.
Domain
Name Tips -
There may be some advantages to choosing a domain name that includes
the focus of your business in the name.
Create
Robots.txt File -
Creating a robots.txt file will not improve your search engine
positioning, but it does give robots information on which files you
do not allow crawled and indexed in the search engines.
